When it comes to drugs it seems there are 3 categories of drug use: experimental, recreational and dependent. This article examines the differences and whether they are as clear-cut as they seem.
The three levels of drug use are:
Experimental
Recreational
Dependent
Some points to consider when examining levels of use:
Experimental drug users may be at risk from the effects of drugs the first time they use them due to low tolerance levels and unpredictable effects. This is certainly the case with alcohol, solvents and medicines.
Recreational users may see their use as regulated, when they are in fact causing significant harm to their health. This is often the case with insidious drugs such as alcohol and cigarettes.
Dependent drug users may have several physical, psychological, social and economic problems that need addressing.
It has been argued by some critics that there is no such thing as recreational drug use and that it is the behaviour that is recreational.

Most runners whether recreational or professional will agree with me that they have been forced out of running one or more times by running related injuries. Whereas it is a fact that running injuries happen, preventing them is worth all the effort and when they happen, knowing how to deal with them is crucial. Recreational running is a fun sport and anybody who is physically able can pursue it regardless of age. It is one of the most effective ways to lose extra body weight and keep it under control. Recreational running has also become a great social activity in our society today. Everyone who has incorporated it in their lifestyle knows the health benefits associated with it. Due to the increased number of people currently engaging in fun running, there are now more cases of running related injuries than there were few years back. I get asked all the time how one can deal with these injuries and since every case is different we are going to look at general ways to avoid or manage running related injuries.

Recreational kayaking can be described as using a kayak that is meant for calm water and paddling near shore. This can mean kayaking on a lake, a slow moving river or the shoreline of the ocean. Often times these kayaks do not have rudders, may have open cockpits and sometimes are even inflatable kayaks. It usually doesn’t mean expeditions, whitewater kayaking or open water crossings. Keeping that in mind, if you are recreational kayaking do you know what safety tips you should consider before you start paddling?
Recreational Kayaking Safety Tips
Recreational kayakers make up the majority of kayaking people. Often times those who purchase a recreational kayak have had little to no training in kayaking safety education. Whether paddling a hard-shelled kayak or an inflatable kayak, there are a few points to remember and take note of before you enter the water.

If you or a family member are seriously injured in a boating accident, then it is important for you to understand how maritime law operates. One of the first things you should do if you or a family member is seriously injured in a recreational boating accident is to make sure you meet the Federal boat accident reporting requirements for recreational boat accidents.
When Must a Boating Accident Report Be Filed?
Under Federal Regulations the operator of any recreational vessel is required to file a Boating Accident Report (BAR) when, as a result of an occurrence, accident and/or event that involves a vessel or its equipment:
1. There is a death; or
2. A person disappears from the vessel under circumstances which would indicate either death or injury; or
3. A person is injured and requires non first-aid medical treatment; or
4. There is damage to vessels and other property which totals to ,000 or more; or
5. A complete loss of a vessel.
Whose Has the Reporting Obligation?

What is recreation? It describes any activity that rejuvenates and stimulates an individual both on the physical and mental point of view. Some examples of this are biking, hiking, swimming, fishing and even book reading. These activities have positive impacts on the body as well as on the mind.
There are recreational activities you can do by yourself. You can go to the library, pick out a book that interest you and read by yourself. You can also do kite flying, play video games; do yoga and a whole bunch of activities without the need of a partner or a group. These activities are good to note so that even if you cannot find someone to accompany you for the time being, you can still stay in shape or keep your mind busy.
Recreational activities are important because it helps your body and mind stay in shape. The more you age, the more you need some activities to help you maintain a fit body and a healthy mind. You will be able to cope more during stressful and troublesome stages in your life if you are actively doing some recreational activities.

A dictionary defines the term ‘Recreation’ as an activity that diverts or amuses or stimulates; an activity that renews your health and spirits by enjoyment and relaxation.
Thus, it becomes easy to actually consider factors that can create an experience of relaxation. Creating a refreshing and a sublime environment will by far, depend on the choice of recreational facilities. There are several recreational facilities that aim towards not only providing with a place to unwind but also offering fitness solutions. Designing these facilities in the most strategic way for their optimum use is what must be primarily looked at.
There are several factors that must be considered while designing recreation facilities –
Maximum use of natural resources like sunlight and air
Convertible factors
Adequate seating arrangements
Intricacies of the interiors
Noise levels
Other ambience related factors
Elaborating on the above points would give a better idea of them. Facilities must be designed in ways which make optimum use of sunlight and fresh air. This would require careful study of the direction of sunlight and air during all seasons. Most favorable use of these natural resources always boosts the environment and gives the much needed, right feel to a recreational facility.
